Suspect takes 'stoned selfie' with arresting officer as he's booked for driving under the influence

Most suspects are allowed one call after they're arrested - but it seems this young man had a different use for his phone.
Cheeky Gilbert Phelps, 20, decided to ask his arresting officer for a selfie as he was being booked into custody for driving under the influence.
And officer Ben Hektoen kindly obliged.
Phelps was arrested in Iowa City, Iowa, on August 6 and admitted to officer Hektoen that he has been smoking marijuana, The Smoking Gun reports.

As he was being booked into custody, grinning Phelps is believed to have asked the officer for a selfie.
Officer Hektoen agreed and gave the young man a thumbs up.
Phelps was later charged with operating while under the influence.
He is due to attend a preliminary hearing on August 17, The Smoking Gun reports.
